Glitter Snack LLC makes JamChip and runs jamchip.com and the app at app.jamchip.com. These are the terms for all of it while JamChip is free. When you use the site or the app, you’re agreeing to the latest version of them. They include a limit on what we’re liable for.
Nothing costs anything yet. 1.0 is the paid version, and it comes with its own terms before anyone’s asked for money.
It’s early
Section titled “It’s early”Things break. Until 1.0, the way JamChip saves files can still change, so a file from an early version might not open in a later one. 1.0 is when we promise your files keep opening. Until then, keep copies of anything you care about.
The site and the app may not be supported and may be changed at any time without notice. You use them at your own risk.
Who can use it now
Section titled “Who can use it now”JamChip’s in closed testing until it launches free, planned for 5 February 2027. Until then the zip and the app are for the people Ev has invited: a few from coworking first, then small groups from the waitlist. Anyone can read the site and the docs and join the list. At the launch, Download and Try open to everyone.
You need to be 13 or older, or 16 in the EU, to join the waitlist or use the app.
The plugin’s licence
Section titled “The plugin’s licence”The plugin is free and MIT-licensed. The licence ships in the zip too. It lets you use, change and share the code, and it says the code comes as is, with no warranty. The JamChip name and logo aren’t covered by it.
What you make with JamChip is yours. The plugin and the app keep your files on your own device or in your browser, and nothing you draw or compose is sent to us.
What you can’t do
Section titled “What you can’t do”- Flood the sign-up form.
- Use any of it for anything unlawful.
If you do, we can take you off the invite list or the waitlist. If we have your email address, we’ll write and tell you why.
What we don’t promise
Section titled “What we don’t promise”The site and the app are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind. Without limiting this, we expressly disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, regarding the site and the app including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, security, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise they’ll do what you need, be up at any given time or be free of bugs, and not every bug gets fixed. The plugin comes with the MIT licence’s own “as is”.
Liability
Section titled “Liability”We won’t be liable to you or anyone else for lost profits, use, goodwill or data, or for any incidental, indirect, special, consequential or exemplary damages, however they come about, that result from:
- using the site or the app, or not being able to
- a change to any of them, or any of them stopping
- someone getting into your data or what you send without permission
- anything else to do with JamChip
That holds whether or not we were told such a loss could happen, and even if a remedy set forth in these terms is found to have failed of its essential purpose. We will have no liability for any failure or delay due to matters beyond our reasonable control.
When these terms change
Section titled “When these terms change”When we change them, we update the date at the top and add a line under it saying what changed. Using the site or the app after that means you agree to the new version.
Except where the law says otherwise, these terms and your use of the site and the app are governed by the laws of the State of Washington and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. You and Glitter Snack LLC agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts in the State of Washington.
